This was a project from my 2nd year of Textiles Fine Art and my class and I worked in collaboration with Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in Dublin City Centre. We were given a brief from Powerscourt to create an art work inspired by the rich history of the building. Before the building was bought and used as a bespoke shopping centre, it was a drapery. I was greatly inspired by this and the intricate plasterwork of the building. I explored the reaction between textiles and plaster. The plaster allowed me to solidify the usually ever-changing drape of fabric, capturing a moment in time.
